"I was initially skeptical of working with a BA, but chose to go this route as it intuitively made sense to work with someone that has no other agenda
than my own. While a BA may not have deep knowledge of one given
neighborhood like a local realtor may, my BA did have a solid understanding
of the greater real-estate market in the area, which better suited my needs
as I was not focused on one specific location. Further, as my BA and I
visited numerous properties, it was also clear how listing agents would
steer us to other properties listed by their firms, that after viewing with
pushy agency representatives, were not a good fit with my criteria. This
behavior reinforced the notion that listing agents may not be unbiased and
could try to convince me to settle for a house that is not ideal for me and
also not negotiate as aggressively on price and terms. And at the end of
the day, the terms were equally as important as the price. So I could not
see a listing agent being aggressive enough with one of their own clients to
get me the best overall deal. I would recommend a BA."

"Upon finding a home and my broker negotiating a below market price I began
the process of acquiring my first home. My buyers agent pointed out many
issues prior to the home inspection and advised me to be very cautious in
proceeding. I saw great potential in the property and decided to go ahead
with the home inspection. The inspection evidenced very high moisture
reading in basement. Upon additional investigation, serious health and
safety hazards found. Exterior inspection found evidence of main structural
post damage in the garage and improper installation of support beam.
Although my offer was accepted, I did not go to contract and was able to
